1973 – Jim Croce hits #1 with “Time In a Bottle.”

1973 – Emerson, Lake & Palmer reach #11 on the album chart with “Brain Salad Surgery.”

1975 – Paul Kantner and Grace Slick of Jefferson Airplane divorce.

1980 – Folksinger/songwriter Tim Hardin dies at age forty of a heroin overdose in his Hollywood apartment. His best known songs included “If I Were a Carpenter” and “Reason To Believe.”
