1968 – Creedence Clearwater Revival release their self-titled debut album.

1972 – Elton John hits #6 with “Rocket Man.”

1973 – Ray Davies announces he’s leaving The Kinks. His decision is brought on by exhaustion and his wife recently leaving him. He returns to the group within the week.

1978 – Over 200,000 fans gather at Blackbush Airport in Britain to see Bob Dylan and his band off after the completion of his U.K. tour.

1989 – More than 200,000 people cram into Venice, Italy for a free Pink Floyd concert.

1993 – Neil Young’s “Unplugged” CD and video are released. Recorded on February 7th in Los Angeles, it is an all-acoustic 14-song set.

1999 – The U.S. leg of the Bruce Springsteen and the E-Street Band reunion tour commences with the first of 15 sold-out shows at New Jersey’s Continental Airlines Arena.
