1965 – Barry McGuire’s “Eve Of Destruction” hits #1 on the pop chart.

1967 – The Beatles record “Fool On The Hill” at Abbey Road Studios in London.

1970 – Ringo Starr releases his “Beaucoups of Blues” album.

1970 – Janis Joplin records “Me And Bobbie McGee”.

1971 – Cat Stevens “Peace Train” is released.

1973 – The Rolling Stones’ “Goats Head Soup” turns gold. The album makes it to the top of the LP chart and contains the #1 single “Angie”.

1979 – The Eagles LP, “The Long Run” is released.

1980 – Led Zeppelin drummer John “Bonzo” Bonham dies of asphyxiation after drinking forty measures of vodka on the eve of the band’s U.S. tour. The group decides he cannot be replaced and disbands. John Bonham was 32.

1981 – The Rolling Stones play the first show of their U.S. tour at Philadelphia’s JFK Stadium. The tour is filmed by director Hal Ashby and later released in 1983 as the concert documentary “Let’s Spend the Night Together”.

1982 – Don Henley’s solo debut album, “I Can’t Stand Still” enters the chart.

1982 – The Who’s final album, “It’s Hard” enters the chart.

1993 – John Mellencamp’s “Human Wheels” enters the LP chart.

2007 – Joni Mitchell releases “Shine,” her first studio album in 10 years.
