1967 – Harry Nilsson begins recording “Everybody’s Talking.” The song is eventually used in the Oscar-winning film “Midnight Cowboy.”

1969 – On the second date of their U.S. tour, the Rolling Stones break the Los Angeles concert gross record held by the Beatles since 1966. They add an extra date to their L.A. Forum stand and a fourth date to their upcoming gig at New York’s Madison Square Garden.

1970 – Jim Morrison records the poetry that the other members of the Doors would set to music after his death and issue on the 1978 album, “An American Prayer”.

1971 – Led Zeppelin’s untitled fourth album, often referred to as “Led Zeppelin IV” is released. The album eventually becomes the third best- selling album of all time in the U.S., certified 23X Platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America.

1979 – The Grateful Dead’s “Shakedown Street” LP is released.
