1964 – Simon & Garfunkel’s debut “Wednesday Morning, 3 A.M.” is released.

1970 – The film “The Magic Christian” featuring Ringo Starr debuts in New York City. The movie’s soundtrack album, featuring Badfinger’s “Come and Get It,” (written and produced by Paul McCartney), is released on Apple Records the same day.

1972 – America hits #1 with “A Horse With No Name.”

1975 – Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers form from the seeds of the disbanded Gainesville, Florida group Mudcrutch.

1983 – The Rolling Stones concert flick “Let’s Spend The Night Together” opens in New York during the city’s heaviest snow storm this century.

1984 – John Cougar Mellencamp’s “Pink Houses” peaks at #8 on the pop chart.

2007 – Joan Baez, Booker T & the MG’s, the Grateful Dead and the Doors are all given Lifetime Achievement Grammy awards, 2007.
