1963 – The first Monterey Folk Festival is held in California. Included on the bill are Bob Dylan, Joan Baez, Pete Seeger, the Weavers, and Peter, Paul & Mary.

1970 – “Deja Vu,” by Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young, is released. With the addition of Neil Young, giving the band a more electric edge, the album goes to #1 and sells more than 7 million copies.

1990 – Rick Grech, bass player with Family, Blind Faith and Traffic dies of kidney and liver failure.
