1965 – The Byrds make their TV debut, singing “Mr. Tambourine Man” on NBC’s “Hullabaloo”.

1967 – The Beatles record “Baby, You’re A Rich Man” in six hours at Olympic Studios It becomes the B-side for the single “All You Need is Love.”

1970 – The triple-album “Woodstock” soundtrack is released on Cotillion Records. The document of the epochal rock festival will go gold within two weeks.

1981 – Bob Marley died of lung cancer and a brain tumor. He was 36.

2003 – Jackson Browne guests on “The Simpsons”.

2007 – The Mamas & the Papas, Otis Redding and Al Kooper are inducted into the Hollywood Rock Walk.
