1967 – Procol Harum’s “A Whiter Shade of Pale” tops the British singles chart.

1969 – Brian Jones announces he is leaving The Rolling Stones because he doesn’t agree with the band’s musical direction. Less than a month later he would be found dead in the swimming pool at his home.

1974 – The group Yes loses member Rick Wakeman, who decides to go solo.

1975 – America’s “Sister Golden Hair” is a hit.

1982 – A re-united Simon & Garfunkel leave for a nine date European tour which starts at the Hippodrome d’Auteuil in Paris, and ends June 19th in London.
