1964 – The Moody Blues form.

1969 – Folk-singer Pete Seeger launches the restored sloop ‘Clearwater,’ which serves as his podium for advancing environmental issues over the next several decades. Among his pet causes is the cleanup of New York’s Hudson River, and to this end, General Electric is hauled into court for contaminating the river with PCB’s.

1975 – Bob Dylan officially releases the long-bootlegged “Basement Tapes.”

1992 – Elton John and Eric Clapton play the first of three sell-out dates at London’s Wembley Stadium. Bonnie Raitt is the opening act.

2006 – “Love,” the Cirque de Soleil’s tribute to The Beatles opens at The Mirage in Las Vegas.
