1974 – David Byrne, Tina Weymouth and Chris Frantz plant the seeds for Talking Heads when they all move into a loft in New York from Rhode Island, where they’d been attending art school.

1975 – Rod Stewart references his move from England to America with a new album, “Atlantic Crossing.”

1976 – “Dreamboat Annie,” the debut album by Vancouver’s Heart, goes gold. The album contains “Magic Man” and “Crazy on You.”

1977 – Guitarist Jimmy McCulloch quits Paul McCartney & Wings to join a reformed line-up for Small Faces.

1979 – “In Through the Out Door,” Led Zeppelin’s first album of new material in over three years, is released.

1982 – Peter Gabriel releases his “Security” album.

1988 – Elton John sells some of his costumes and concert memorabilia at an auction in London for $6.2 million.

1998 – Virgin Publishing releases the “1,000 Greatest Albums Of All Time”. Beatles albums take four out of the top five spots: “Revolver” tops the list, followed by “Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band” and “The Beatles” (known as the White Album), with “Abbey Road” at No. 5.

2007 – Lynyrd Skynyrd is inducted into the Georgia Music Hall of Fame in Atlanta.
