1966 – John Lennon meets Yoko Ono for the first time at the Indica Gallery in London.

1971 – Van Morrison’s “Wild Night” is released.

1976 – The Who and Grateful Dead co-headline a concert at the Oakland-Alameda County Stadium.

1980 – John Lennon celebrates his 40th birthday by releasing “Starting Over,” his first record in five years. Yoko commissions a sky writer to etch him a “Happy Birthday” message over New York City’s skyline.

2000 – John Lennon’s views on everything from the breakup of the Beatles to his attitude toward revolution and drugs, deemed too controversial to print 30 years before, are revealed in a the book “Lennon Remembers, The Complete Rolling Stone Interviews.”

2000 – On what would have been John Lennon’s 60th birthday, the John Lennon Museum opens to the public near Tokyo.

2000 – The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band reunites at Nashville’s historic Ryman Auditorium for a performance of their signature song, “Will the Circle Be Unbroken”.

2007 – Yoko Ono dedicates the “John Lennon Peace Tower” in Reykjavik Harbor, Iceland.
