The Eye of the Acoustic Storm

Neil Young: Solo, Live & Acoustic in Toronto

Each week, a different artist is spotlighted in “The Eye of The Acoustic Storm.” Hourly segments of “The Eye” feature the artist’s music along with bio information and sound bites.

Neil Young first gained attention as a member of Buffalo Springfield. As a solo artist, his early work was highlighted by albums like “Everybody Knows This is Nowhere” and “After the Goldrush.” Young debuted with Crosby Stills & Nash at Woodstock in 1969, and is now into his fifth decade of making music. In early 2007, Neil released “Live at Massey Hall 1971,” which captures his all-acoustic performance at the Toronto music venue from January of that year. Included are stellar versions of “Old Man,” “Ohio” and “Helpless.” More recently, Neil Young issued his 1968 concerts at the Canterbury House in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Material included Buffalo Springfield songs and music from his first solo album.
